It's important to get the heads right, and John Morrison is the master of it. With a wealth of experience from coaching Donegal, Mayo and Leitrim in recent years, the Armagh man is at the forefront in the movement from drills towards concept games to enhance team play. Morrison's columns draw on much of that personal experience, and all contain his unique ability to think outside the box. A must-have at coaching seminars the length of the country, Morrison is widely regarded as one of the best in the business.
Focusing on the coaching side of the game is Steven Poacher. He has worked with some of the country's top players in his dual role as the current coach of the An Riocht senior club team in Down with the likes of Marty and John Clarke, Brendan McVeigh and James Colgan, as well as being coach of the Down u21 outfit for the past two years alongside Neil Collins. He is also the head of Physical Education in St Columbans College in Kilkeel.
Fermanagh native Paul Murphy is quickly earning a reputation as the man to bring teams and individuals the 'power' to succeed. He is currently studying Sports Science at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown and as part of his course has worked with some of the province's top athletes. He is a strength and conditioning specialist, and provides coaches and players alike with valuable information on how best to improve their own strength and that of their team.
