All-Ireland winners take charge of Tullysaran

By Shaun Casey

TYRONE duo John Devine and Davy Harte will manage Armagh Intermediate club Tullysaran for the upcoming season.

They replace Padraig McGuckin, who guided Tullysaran to back-to-back semi-finals but lost out to St Paul’s (2020) and 2021 champions Carrickcruppen.

Devine was part of the breakthrough Tyrone team that defeated the Orchard county to win their first ever All-Ireland crown in 2003.

The Red Hand goalkeeper ended his playing days in 2013 with three All-Ireland titles and four Ulster medals.

Harte, a nephew of former Tyrone boss Mickey, was a marauding, attack minded half-back.

He picked up two All-Ireland medals in 2005 and 2008 and his goal against Dublin in the ’08 quarter final lives long in the memory for Tyrone fans.

The Errigal Ciaran pair, who also teach together in St Patrick’s, Armagh, and have plenty of championship winning experience from their playing days and they’ll hope to carry that into their new roles.
