Donegal await news on McLaughlin injury blow

By Michael McMullan

DONEGAL Ladies manager Maxi Curran is hoping for the best with regards to Bláthnáid McLaughlin’s injury.

She was forced off with a knee injury six minutes into Donegal’s hard-fought win against Waterford when the All-Ireland series began last weekend.

“She went off early and you’d be pretty worried and she had a scan early today (Tuesday) so we’ll get the result of that,” Curran said.

“It doesn’t look great…she definitely won’t feature this Sunday and whatever else the future holds, we wish her well and hope it’s not as serious as it looks.”

Donegal are back in action this weekend, taking on Cork where a win would see them top the group ahead of the quarter-finals.

The win against the Deise was a welcome boost after being pipped by Armagh in the last minute of the Ulster final.
