Injury blow for Armagh

ARMAGH have suffered a significant blow as Stephen Sheridan is set to miss their National League campaign.

The versatile Forkhill player, who has played midfield and centre half-back for Kieran McGeeney’s side, broke his jaw during a collision at training.

Sheridan has become a trusted lieutenant of McGeeney since breaking his way into the team into 2016 having made his debut the year before.

In 2020, he started eight of the side’s nine matches, mostly in that new centre half-back role.

Armagh’s Division One North campaign starts against Monaghan next weekend at the neutral venue of Brewster Park.

The move is due to the Oriel county’s breach of the Covid-19 training ban.
