IF Sleacht Néill footballers beat Ballinderry on Sunday, they’ll land the Derry league title.

Austin O’Malley’s side were winners over Swatragh on Monday night, moving ahead of neighbours Glen by virtue of head-to-head. Glen face Swatragh as the league concludes this weekend with Magherafelt hosting Glenullin.

Should Glen and Sleacht Néill slip up, a Rossa win would leave all three teams’ level on points in a mini-league between the three teams. In this case, each team has one victory each but Sleacht Néill lead on score difference.

At the bottom of the table, Limavady and Faughanvale sit in the relegation spots with tough games against reigning champions Newbridge and Loup respectively. The ‘Vale are bottom and need victory to avoid the drop straight to Division Two, with Limavady battling for the outside chance of facing a play-off.

Ballerin were winners of Division Three at the weekend after going through the league unbeaten.

They begin the Junior Championship this weekend with a clash against Drum.
