GAELIC Life hurling columnist John Martin has said that Antrim must quickly find their ruthless streak if they are to secure a return to Division One hurling.

The Saffrons meet Carlow in the 2B final in Newry this weekend, but Martin believes they are being held back by their inability to take advantage of their dominance in games.

“I came away from a couple of Antrim games this year saying ‘on another day they could have won by 10 points’ but I’m still waiting to see a ruthless streak that puts a team away when on top,” he said.

“Some of it goes back to Antrim’s age-old issue of a lack of ball-winning forwards; other times they are taking the wrong option in front of the posts.”
