KEVIN Cassidy believes that Donegal manager Rory Gallagher had his eyes on Dublin, rather than Cork, last weekend.

In his weekly Gaelic Life column, Cassidy explains why Donegal looked lethargic at times, and he also states his case for why he thinks that Michael Murphy will play at full-forward in Saturday’s quarter-final against Jim Gavin’s side.

“Sometimes as a manager you have to take risks and looking at last week’s game I just feel that Rory had trained those lads hard in the lead up to Cork game with a view to edging through and being able to fire on all cylinders for the clash with the Dubs this weekend,” he said.

“I watched as players like Michael Murphy and Odhran MacNiallais blatantly struggled to chase back after Cork players running up the pitch.

“Those two guys are normally the ones full of energy but they looked out on their feet, so this to me is a clear sign that Rory has been reading them for the big clash this weekend.”
