LAST weekend’s win over Carlow lifted the fog from Antrim’s season but they face another big challenge on Sunday.
Dublin visit Corrigan Park with Davy Fitzgerald’s side still in need of vital points to beat the drop from Division 1B.
The Dubs head north with a mixed set of results – a win, a draw and a defeat from their three outings.
There is also a crunch game elsewhere in the relegation conversation with winless Down welcoming Kildare to Ballycran.
Antrim will finish their campaign against Down in Newry but they’d love to pick off another victory this weekend.
They currently sit outside the bottom two on score difference so avoiding defeat this weekend would be golden for the Saffrons.
Dublin were double-score victors when the sides met in last season’s Croke Park league tie. Fifteen points separated the sides when Dublin also came through last summer’s championship clash.
Antrim will look back to the 2024 campaign when they were seconds away from turning Dublin over at Corrigan Park only for a scrappy late goal, off goalkeeper Tiernan Smyth.
There has been plenty of water under the bridge since then but Antrim will have to bottle what they can from beating Carlow last weekend.
They must tap into the performance against Wexford when they were pipped by a late goal. There will also be the lingering hurt form losing to Kildare.
Based on results to date in 2026, Antrim have nothing to lose and everything to gain from Sunday. They will go in as underdogs but Fitzgerald sides have thrived on such a tag in the past. If they could turn the tables on Sunday, it has the potential to flick a switch on their season.
