McCann returns to Antrim setup

TOMÁS McCann has returned to the Antrim fold under Mark Doran after a couple of years out of the setup. The Cargin clubman is one of a number of players that Doran has called into the panel.

Dunloy’s Deaglan Smyth received a call up but will miss out through injury while while John McNabb, John Carron, Paddy McAleer, Conor Small and Kevin Small are all part of the panel.

Doran takes over from Andy McEntee and the Down native has plenty of inter-county experience in terms of coaching, but Antrim is his first county job as manager.

McCann’s older brother Michael, who featured in the 2009 Ulster final, is part of Doran’s backroom team along with Paul Bradley, who worked with Doran in Sleacht Néill this season.

Former Derry shot stopper Barry Gills is the goalkeeper coach while Eamon McCann and Brendan Murphy will head up S&C. Kelly Fay is the Performance Coach while Kevin McGuigan will look after Performance Analysis.
