Antrim hurler Molloy back in training

By Michael McMullan

KEELAN Molloy is back in full training again and will be a boost to Davy Fitzgerald’s plans.

Antrim lost controversially to a late, late free in Wexford last weekend and welcome Fitzgerald’s native Clare on Sunday in Cushendall.

The Saffrons are without key players Niall McKenna, Nigel Elliott, Ryan McGarry, Ryan Elliott and Eoghan Campbell this season.

They hurled well in tough conditions last weekend only for defeat to be snatched from the jaws of victory.

Having Molloy back will add to their options in attack alongside James McNaughton, Conal Cunning and Conor Johnston.

“Keelan’s been injured,” said former player Arron Graffin, now a coach under Fitzgerald.

“He came off the Dunloy run with a few injuries so he’s been rehabbing away.

“He’s back into full training now last week. He has got a bit of work to do in terms of other lads having been training obviously from the end of November.

“They’re a few months ahead of him, but Keelan’s an excellent player. It won’t take him long to get back into it but he’s training away after rehabbing for a month or two.”
