CCCC turn down Croker request

By Shaun Casey

The CCCC have turned down Armagh and Galway’s joint bid for their All-Ireland group stage clash to take place in Croke Park.

The fixture will go ahead in Avant Money Páirc Sean Mác Diarmada, Carrick-on-Shannon on Sunday 18 June as originally scheduled.

Both counties submitted a joint request to the CCCC that the venue be changed amid concerns over possible attendance issues.

The Leitrim venue holds a maximum capacity of just under 10,000, which may leave a huge number of fans disappointed.

Tickets have yet to go on sale, but will be sold online on a first come first served basis rather than allocated through clubs.
