Armagh 2-26 Cavan 0-10
Armagh earned a second victory in the u-20 Ulster Championship with a huge 22-point win over Cavan at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds.
Having beaten Down in the first round, Barry O’Hagan’s men made it two from two on home turf to top the group ahead of round three, when they’ll host Tyrone in a semi-final shootout.
Armagh were extremely efficient in front of the posts in the first half, with the breeze at their backs, notching their full tally of 1-17 all from open play and registering just two first half wides.
Eoin Duffy, Diarmuid O’Rourke and Aaron Haughey (2) raised orange flags for the Orchard County, while Fergal Boylan rattled the net as they led 1-17 to 0-4 at the break.
Jack Dobson, Cavan’s top scorer on the night, nailed a two-pointer at the start of the second half but Armagh continued to dominate proceedings.
A second three-pointer late in the game from midfielder Sean Burke was the icing on the cake for the home side, who had nine different scores on the night.
