McGonigle returns as Armagh boss

GREGORY McGonigle has been appointed Armagh Ladies manager on a two-year term, returning to the helm having stepped away after one season in charge in 2024.

McGonigle led the Orchard Ladies to a historic Division One league title and claimed an Ulster crown as well, beating Donegal after extra time. Armagh just lost out to eventual All-Ireland champions Kerry in the semi-final by four-points.

The former Monaghan and Dublin boss stepped away at the end of 2024, with Darnell Parkinson and Joe Feeney, members of his backroom team that season, taking over for 2025.

Armagh once again reached the Division One league final but lost out to the Kingdom before retaining their provincial title. Armagh were however surprisingly knocked out of the All-Ireland series, failing to qualify out of the group.

A first round draw with Meath proved to be their only point as they lost their second outing to Kildare at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds.

McGonigle’s management team will be made up by Monaghan natives Darren Swift and Paddy McNally and Pearse Og clubman Fergal Duffy.
