Quarter final replays the centre of attention in Cavan

CAVAN SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER-FINAL REPLAYS

CAVAN GAELS V GOWNA

Saturday, Kingspan Breffni, 8.15pm

THESE two teams couldn’t be separated when they met last weekend for a place in the last four. Cavan Gaels were rampant in the group stages but last year’s beaten champions Gowna showed they’re determined to go all the way. Maybe Cavan Gaels will learn more from the draw.

Verdict: Cavan Gaels

MULLAHORAN V RAMOR UNITED

Sunday, Kingspan Breffni, 12.30pm

LAST year’s beaten champions Ramor survived a major scare against Mullahoran last weekend. The Virgina-based men have been hit by injuries but the favourite usually wins the second time around.

Verdict: Ramor

CAVAN INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS

Cuchulainn v Castlerahan

Sunday, Kingspan Breffni, 3pm

CASTLERAHAN have steadied the ship this year after the massive disappointment of last year’s relegation. Cuchulainn’s have also been flying it and this is their fourth semi-final in five years. It’s on a knife-edge.

Verdict: Castlerahan

COOTEHILL CELTIC V BALLYHAISE

Sunday, Kingspan Breffni, 7pm

BALLYHAISE have been one of the success stories in Cavan football this year, but in fairness Cootehill have bounced back after a difficult league campaign in Division One. Could be a close one.

Verdict: Ballyhaise

CAVAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS

DRUMLANE V DRUMALEE

Friday, Kingspan Breffni, 8pm

2018 CHAMPIONS Drumlane are one step away from the final. They played Division Two football this year, while Drumalee were one of the top teams in Division Three. We’ll give them the nod.

Verdict: Drumlane

ARVA V KNOCKBRIDE

Sunday, Kingspan Breffni, 5pm

ARVA were the form team heading into the Junior Championship, but they’ve been made to work for their place in the semi-finals. Knockbride looked strong, but Arva should prevail if they play to their potential.

Verdict: Arva
