Caoimhin returns to the Breffni fold

FREE-SCORING forward Caoimhin O’Reilly has been recalled to the Cavan senior intercounty panel after taking a year out.

O’Reilly had a superb club championship with last year’s beaten Intermediate finalists Butlersbridge so it’s no major surprise that he’s back involved.

He has the potential to make the starting team and scored 1-3 in Cavan’s Ulster Championship preliminary round defeat to Donegal 2013.

It’s understood that the reigning Ulster Champions have recruited a number of other players to the cause, including experienced Arva player Kevin Boucher, who was on the Cavan team which won the Ulster U-21 championship back in 2014.

Meanwhile, Ballyhaise’s David Brady, who played on the Cavan minor team which lost the Ulster Championship final to Derry on a scoreline of 1-11 of 0-10 is back on the senior panel as well. Two players from Ramor, Sean McEvoy and Brian O’Connell, are also understood to part of Mickey Graham’s intercounty set-up.

It also seems that stalwarts Conor Moynagh and former Dara McVeety won’t be involved for a second year. They’re still on their travels, but McVeety may be back later in the year to play a part for defending senior club champions Crosserlough.
