STEPHEN King is embracing the razzamatazz of Cavan’s Division One opener against Dublin at Breffni Park on Sunday.

The Dubs are rolling into town and King is anxious that Cavan do themselves justice against the reigning All-Ireland Champions.

In an interview with the Gaelic Life, the Cavan legend also expands on his belief that Mattie McGleenan’s men may have to pick their battles if they’re to retain their Division One status.

“It’s going to a be marvellous occasion on Sunday, there’ll be a huge crowd at Breffni Park and I believe the B&Bs are sold out. It’s great for Cavan as well, there’s a knock-on effect obviously.

“I’m not going to say Cavan are going to win this. Dublin are probably going to win it but if we can cope with them and do ourselves justice and get the nucleus of the team out of it it will stand us in good stead.

He added: “I don’t like to say it but sometimes you have to pick your fights. You may catch Dublin on the hop and if you look at Roscommon, they had some league performance last year. If you get a run like that you’d be extremely happy. We’re in a position like Roscommon last year where they were no-hopers and tipped for relegation.”
