Ballinascreen turn to Tyrone duo

By Michael McMullan

BALLINASCREEN have appointed Mark McCullagh and Mickey Gallagher as joint managers of their senior football team.

The duo were in charge of Monaghan side Tyholland last season and take over from the outgoing management team led by Ciaran McElroy.

Ballinascreen were beaten in the championship by Swatragh and needed a late goal to save them in their relegation play-off with Kilrea and secure their Division 1A status for the 2022 season.

‘Screen have also named Andy Barr as their new senior ladies manager, who takes over from Conor McGarvey.

Barr was involved in the development of Steelstown as a ladies force and was a selector for Derry under former manager Paul Hasson.

Elsewhere, Drumsurn have reappointed Sean Brady for a second season in charge.

Brady steered them to the Division 1B title last season, the club’s first senior trophy in 30 years, but they were beaten by eventual champions Greenlough in the semi-final.
