Donegal 2020 SFC final appeal postponed

THE conclusion to the controversy surrounding the 2020 Donegal county final appears to be some way off.

The county board were due to make a decision on the appeal that lodged following Naomh Conaill’s final win two weekends ago. However, no decision has been made due to an outbreak of Covid in the Kilcar club.

Naomh Conaill had won the delayed final after extra-time and penalties. The team were celebrated in the days afterwards, but that was until Kilcar lodged an appeal against the result. They had pointed out that there may have been an issue with substitutions used.

The Donegal County Board were due to handle the appeal last Wednesday night. However, they were notified that the Kilcar club is closed because of Covid. As a result the hearing has had to be suspended until that matter is resolved.
