Opponents…with Ethan O’Donnell

Name: Ethan O’Donnell.

Age: 24.

Teams played for: Naomh Conaill and Donegal.

Which opposition ground do you like playing on and why?
Ardara’s new field – have a decent record there.

Which opposition ground do you dread playing on and why?
Dungloe – it’s like doing hill runs.

What team have you enjoyed the most success against and what’s the most memorable win?
Most memorable win was the Donegal Senior Championship in the trilogy against Gweedore in 2019.

Which team have you enjoyed the least success against, and is there one you’d prefer to forget?
One to forget was the 2019 Ulster Club final against Kilcoo.

Which opposition player have you enjoyed marking and why?
Patrick Rodgers, Naomh Mhuire – was always a good battle the whole way through underage.

Which opposition player have you disliked marking and why?
Daniel Flynn, Kildare – marked him in a training game at college and he gave me the runaround.

Which player would you transfer into your team and why?
David Clifford – who wouldn’t want him?

Which team, apart from your own, do you like to see do well and why?
I better tip the hat to Na Rossa.

What’s the most frustrating defeat you have experienced?
Ulster Minor semi-final against Derry in 2015. We had a great team that year and let it slip.

What’s the most satisfying victory you have experienced?
2019 county final – because after two tough drawn games we won it third time lucky after no one gave us a chance.

Which team, apart from your own, do you see doing big things?
Hopefully none for a while yet!
