Down LGFA have appointed a new management ticket headed up by Stephen Mooney with Eoin Donnelly coming in as head coach while further additions to the management and backroom team will be announced in due course.
Colm Donnelly stepped down at the end of the season following two years in the job. The Mourne Ladies reached the last four in the Intermediate All-Ireland race to Fermanagh by just two-points.
Down will once again compete in Division Three of the National League when the new season rolls around. They finished third in the table in 2026, just three-points off a place in the final and promotion.
Mooney and Donnelly were paired up together when they managed the Ulster University Ladies side and reached the Lagan Cup final in 2024.
Former Fermanagh captain Donnelly has been playing his club football with Carryduff over the past few years and they are in the Senior Championship semi-final this Friday evening against Clonduff.
