Some incredible restarts and a few smart stops against Derry.

2 PADDY KELLY Derry

Won a series of possessions late on as Derry pushed Meath all the way.

3 MICHAEL MCKERNAN Tyrone

A simply sublime piece of defending denied Armagh a share of the spoils. Grabbed a point too.

4 PADRAIG DOHERTY Donegal

Brilliant at the back as Donegal fell to defeat in the Nickey Rackard Cup final.

5 PAUDI MCGROGAN Derry

One of the red arrows coming from back. Got a goal and defended superbly.

6 CONOR MCCLUSKEY   Derry

Looks even better than last year. His driving run forwards are electric.

7 OISIN KIERNAN Cavan

Got forward for a brace of points as Cavan eased past Offaly.

8 BRIAN KENNEDY Tyrone

Dominant display around the middle as Tyrone fended off Armagh.

9 MATTIE DONNELLY Tyrone

Has found a real spark this season. Superb work-rate against Armagh.

10 NIALL GARLAND  Monaghan

Scored 2-3 as Monaghan won the Lory Meagher Cup – their first hurling national title.

11 ADAM LOUGHRAN Antrim

A complete livewire in Antrim’s fine win over Fermanagh.

12 RÓISÍN MCCORMICK Antrim

Landed some really difficult frees in the opening day win over Limerick.

13 DARREN MCCURRY Tyrone

Radar was in and caused the Armagh full-back line real problems.

14 OISIN GALLEN Donegal

Star of the show. Derry simply had no answer for the youngster..

15 JACK MCCARRON Monaghan

Had a few doubters this season. Answered his critics with a scintillating scoring display against Clare.
