GL Fantasy Football – Cavan Fantasy targets

Cavan’s Gearoid McKiernan

Last season, Cavan managed to maintain their status in Division two which was a big step for the Breffni men who believe that they are making the right progress towards capturing the Ulster title.

In terms of Fantasy prospects there are a couple of stand out candidates who will undoubtedly be selected by many players.

The question you have to ask yourself is, do you trust Cavan to pull off big results in division two this year, which is going to see them play four Ulster derbies.

The feeling is that the Breffni’s defence may be their biggest provider of Fantasy points. But there are a couple of attackers worth considering too. You probably know who they are.

Gearoid McKiernan (Midfield): McKiernan is a football star in Cavan, blessed with size, strength and skill, he has the potential to be the county’s answer to Michael Murphy. McKiernan is going to score regular points, and as he is a midfielder that is the player a fantasy manager wants.

Sean Johnston (Full forward): Jelly is back in a Cavan shirt much to the delight of the Breffni County. A naturally gifted forward, we know he can score. But can he do it in the Cavan system, and against Ulster counties who know how to handle him?

Killian Clarke (full back): Clarke is going to start steadily for Terry Hyland, and he could get forward too to pop over a couple of points.

Raymond Galligan (Goalkeeper): Galligan rattled over enough points in the Championship to leave him as the second highest fantasy points scorer in the county behind Gearoid McKiernan. The only question is, will he be the keeper this year?
