DONEGAL travel to Clones on Sunday to take on Monaghan in the final league game.
The Ulster champions are still odds on to make the league final, despite losing to Roscommon last weekend, their first defeat of the season.
However, should Donegal lose on Sunday, any two from Kerry, Mayo and Roscommon could make the final.
That said, Donegal have been in consistent form and have the McKenna Cup also tucked away.
Monaghan have been ravaged with absentees and are already relegated. They have nothing to play for other than digging out a victory ahead of their Ulster Championship date with Cavan.
For Donegal, they’ve dropped three points from their last two games after racing to four wins earlier in the campaign.
“I think there are a good few permutations,” said McGuinness after Sunday’s defeat in Roscommon.
“It depends on what happens with Armagh and Kerry, I think that’s a big one.
“If Roscommon win the next day, they have a good chance of being in the league final so there are a lot a permutations.
“We are not bothered either way. If we win the game and we get there then we get there.

Donegal manager Jim McGuinness
“If we don’t, then we will have an extra week to prepare for Down and we will have five weeks to prepare for that match.
“We are getting a lot out of it up until this point and we just want to keep that going.”
“If we had got over the line (against Roscommon), it would be a different situation for us,” McGuinness added, also admitting how the Rossies deserved both points.
“We have another game left in the league. It’s been a very good campaign for us up until this point, so I don’t want to get caught up in too many negatives.”
We take a look at Donegal’s game with Roscommon in this week’s review podcast.
