Kingscourt welcome back some big names

David Lennon and Derek Walsh (joint-managers).

Championship programme:

League stage round one:

Kingscourt Stars v Lacken Celtic, August 1

Team news:

There is a double boost for the Stars this year as Joe Dillon and Noel McIntyre return after picking up cruciate injuries early last season. Keith McCabe and Christy McGowan have retired though. The Stars had a great group campaign in 2019 in David Lennon and Derek Walsh’s first year in charge. Wins over Gowna, Killygarry and Shercock, along with a draw with Lacken, secured a quarter-final date with Cavan Gaels. They only managed seven points in the rain though as the Gaels won by two points. Barry Reilly hit four frees that night and he will be a key player for the side this year, especially if he gets to dovetail with the returning Dillon. Padraig Faulkner will captain the side this year and the Lacken game will be a good marker having drawn with Celtic last year. Shook off the cobwebs with a good win in Killygarry last weekend with Faulkner grabbing two majors.
