Lidl National League joy for Donegal and Antrim as Derry fall to defeat

Donegal remain unbeaten on top of the Lidl National Football League Division One table with victory over Ulster rivals, Monaghan.

The Ulster champions soared to victory right from the outset with Roisin Friel’s early goal sending the Tir Chonaill in at the break with a 1-8 to 0-2 lead.

In the second half, the home dominance continued as Julie Trearty struck a second major midway through the second stanza.

Creator of both goals, Geraldine McLaughlin added seven points to secure a comfortable victory for Maxi Curran’s charges.

In Division Two, the Carlow Rising continued in emphatic fashion as Carlow hit five goals to inflict a 24 point defeat on Derry.

While in Division Four, it was Antrim who rattled the net on five occasion’s to claim victory against Kilkenny.
