Maghery aiming for second county title

MAGHERY

Management:

Finnian Moriarty (manager) and Conor McCaughley (coach).

Championship programme:

Armagh SFC round one
Maghery v Dromintee, August 8

Team news:

Maghery have suffered a blow with the news that former Armagh midfielder Ben Crealey is set to miss the season after breaking his collarbone. His usual partner in crime James Lavery is back though, and already showing that season what he can do following an excellent half-four’s football in the narrow win over Crossmaglen. Ronan Lappin and Conor Mackle, who both suffered long-term injuries last season, are due back in the coming weeks while David Lavery, the new team captain, and Michael Gallagher have also returned from injury. They have been paired against Dromintee in the championship opener and last year they bullied the south Armagh men en-route to a 4-11 to 0-8 win. Dromintee do look better this year, but it would take some turnaround to stop Maghery getting on a charge.
