Sludden moving on from black card controversy

Niall Sludden has developed into one of Tyrone’s most consistent performers

VERSATILE Tyrone star Niall Sludden has already moved on from a league campaign that proved somewhat difficult from a personal perspective.

The Dromore man, who hardly has a reputation was ill-discipline, was black carded in Tyrone’s final two league fixtures against Mayo and Kerry.

Sludden, who also struggled to shake off a hamstring injury during the league, says it hasn’t affected him too much ahead of Tyrone’s Ulster Championship opener against Derry this Sunday.

“Social media, they are going to make a big deal out of it, but to be honest I just get on with it. The way I look at. The way I look at it, everyone is human, everyone makes mistakes.

“The first day was harsh, but maybe the second one I deserved it. That’s just the way it is, that’s the black card. You could say it is maybe a bit inconsistent, but that’s just the rule that has been brought it and we have to bear with it.”
