Championship draws made in Derry, Donegal and Cavan

DUNGIVEN’S prize for beating reigning champions Newbridge is a clash with 2024 All-Ireland champions in the next round.

The Derry CCC have brought in a backdoor format this year and Newbridge face Swatragh in the backdoor as they bid to keep their hands on the John McLaughlin Cup.

The games will be played on August 30/31 weekend.

The winners of Round 2A advance to the quarter-finals. The losers from Round 2B are knocked out and drop into the relegation play-offs. The losers from Round 2A and winners from 2B will advance to Round 3.

In Donegal, the draw for Round Three has been made with St Eunan’s draw to face St Naul’s.

Each team play four games with the top four teams advancing to the quarter-finals.

The next eight will play in the preliminary quarter-finals with the bottom four into the relegation play-offs.

Gaoth Dobhair and last year’s runners up Dungloe have won their opening two games with Glenswilly and MacCumhaills, who drew at the weekend, also unbeaten.

The draw for Round Three has taken place in Cavan.

It’s a 12-team championship. Like Donegal, there are four games but the top eight make it the quarter-finals.

As it stands, Crosserlough, Kingscourt and Gowna have won both their games to date.

Cavan Gaels and Castlerahan lost both games and face off in a crunch game in the next round.
