A strong Cavan hand as Raymond Galligan names his squad for Donegal visit

By Michael McMullan

THERE is a stronger look to the Cavan panel Raymond Galligan has named for Sunday’s visit of Donegal Kingspan Breffni (2pm).

The Breffni County were winners over Mayo on the opening week and welcome back James Smith and Gearóid McKiernan to the squad with Paddy Lynch and Killian Clarke also listed.

Lynch came on to kick a point on his comeback from injury and will be in Donegal manager Jim McGuinness’ thoughts.

Liam Brady came in for Gary O’Rourke in Castlebar and retains his spot between the posts.

Barry Donnelly is out with a knee injury from the last day out and his spot goes to Jason McLoughlin, a defender named at number 12.

Mayo will also face Tyrone his weekend in the group with the Red Hands in buoyant mood after winning against Donegal their Ulster minor and All-Ireland U-20 successes.

The Ulster champions lost to Tyrone in their opening game last weekend and will be keen to get back to winning ways against Raymond Galligan’s side who were winners over Mayo.
