Cargin title defence begins as Antrim race gets underway

CHAMPIONS Cargin will once again put their title on the line this weekend when the Antrim SFC begins.

Ronan Devlin’s team host neighbours Tír na nÓg on Saturday evening as they earmark a 14th title.

Only Creggan (2021) and Lámh Dhearg (2017) have lifted the McNamee Cup in the last decade.

The game of the weekend is at Slemish Park on Friday night (7.30pm) where All Saints host Creggan in a repeat of the recent league final.

It was Creggan who came through and it sets up an intriguing game on Friday night in the group that also contains St Gall’s and Lámh Dhearg.

Saturday (6pm) – Cargin v Tír na nÓg
Sunday (4pm) – Dunloy v St John’s

Group 2
Friday (7.30pm) – Portglenone v Glenravel
Saturday (7.30pm) – Aldergrove v Rossa

Group 3
Friday (7.30pm) –All Saints v Creggan
Sunday (2pm) – Lámh Dhearg v St Gall’s

Group 4
Saturday (6pm) – Aghagallon v Ahoghill
Sunday (4pm) – St Brigid’s v St Paul’s
