Derry make one change ahead of All-Ireland clash

By Michael McMullan

DERRY have made one change ahead of Saturday’s All-Ireland quarter-final against reigning champions Galway in Carrick-on-Shannon (3.30pm).

Cahal McKaigue has been rewarded for his telling contribution to their Ulster final win over Monaghan. He makes his return after his comeback from injury with John Boyle the unlucky player to miss out in the Derry reshuffle.

McKaigue played at both midfield and full back during the league and will wear the the number six jersey with Tommy Rogers and James Sargent continuing their partnership at midfield.

The sides met in the All-Ireland semi-finals last season with Galway’s electric start the catalyst for a 2-9 to 1-11 victory.

Both teams have five of last year’s panel back on board.

The game will be followed by Mayo’s quarter-final with Monaghan at 5.15pm with both games streamed live on TG4’s YouTube channel.
