Doran links up with McConville for new venture

MARK Doran will link up with Oisin McConville in Wicklow next season, Gaelic Life understands.

The former Down players and coach – who will remain as manager of Derry club Sleacht Néill –  takes up the role after being involved with Colm Collins in Clare last season.

Doran – alongside Jerome Johnston – led Ballybay to the Monaghan title in 2022 and came within a whisker of topping Glen this season in the Derry semi-final.

The Garden County were promoted along with Sligo from Division Four in 2023.

Doran will come up against Ulster sides Down and Antrim in a Division Three that will also include his former team Clare who were relegated from Division Two in 2023.
