Eamonn Melaugh steps down as Derry camogie manager

By Michael McMullan

EAMONN Melaugh has stepped down as Derry senior camogie manager after one year at the helm.

The Lavey man had succeeded the outgoing PJ O’Mullan.

Despite starting the season without a host of players, he helped steer the Oakleafers to the Division 2A league final where they lost to Offaly.

Derry were beaten in the Ulster Championship final before going into a chastening All-Ireland Senior Championship that ended in relegation.

“Derry camogie would like to thank Eamonn Melaugh and his backroom team for their tremendous effort with the Derry senior camogie panel this year,” read a statement from Derry Camogie.

“In a season that involved several retirements and resulted in the recruitment of a lot of new, young players, Eamonn and his team put in a huge effort and for that we thank them all.

“We sincerely thank Eamon, Dara, John and Leo for their hard work and dedication throughout the 2025 season. We wish them the very best in their future endeavours.”

Antrim are also searching for a new manager after Carl McCormick and Martin Coulter stepped down after the 2025 season.
