Ederney appoint Wilson as their new manager

By Michael McMullan

EDENERY have appointed Gary Wilson as their new senior football manager.

He takes over from Chris Kelly who stepped down after three seasons at the helm.

Donegal man Wilson, a Games Development Coordinator with Monaghan GAA, comes into the post having managed his native Seán MacCumhaills.

Wilson, an Ulster u-21 winner in 2010 under Jim McGuinness, has been part of Donegal minor management teams, worked with the county’s GAA Academy and the Sigerson Cup team in ATU Donegal.

He will be joined in the Ederney backroom team by Enda Ferris and Aiden Gilroy.

They were beaten in this year’s championship at the semi-final stage by eventual champions Erne Gaels.

Ederney last won the championship in 2020, when goals from Mark McCauley and Sean Cassidy thwarted Derrygonnelly’s quest for six-in-a-row.

County champions Erne Gaels are on the lookout for a new manager after Declan Bonner’s tenure came to an end last weekend.

Defeat to Kilcoo brought the curtain on two years at the helm that yielded back-to-back Fermanagh titles. He now takes over as the Fermanagh senior football manager.

Simon Bradley is back for a fifth season in charge of Enniskillen Gaels, having taken over from John Reihill in 2022 and steered them to the title.

The Gaels were league champions in 2024 and lost to Erne Gaels in the championship final replay.
