Gaelic Life team of the week

THERE is only one weekend of county action left but the club scene is picking up momentum with every week.

Here is our team of the week…

1 Michael Byrne – Rossa
The Antrim ‘keeper hit 1-3 including a first half goal as Rossa beat Aldergrove.

2 Jamie McKay – Mayobridge
Scored a goal and defended well in Mayobridge’s win over Ballyholland.

3 Enda Shalvey – Cootehill Celtic
Captained Cootehill to the Cavan hurling title and named as man of the match.

4 Manus Quigley – Limavady
A massive performance as the Wolfhounds clinched a place in Division One for the first time since 1993.

5 Jamie McCann – Creggan
Was on plenty of ball and kicked some vital scores to turn their championship clash with Ballymena.

6 Shaun McCarron – Ederney
Ederney were winners over Belcoo and McCarron was their key man in the heart of their defence.

7 Gerard Gilmore – Setanta
Once again the scorer, the leader and the driving force as Setanta overcame Burt to make another final.

8 Peter Kelly- St Eunan’s
A strong performance at midfield for the Letterkenny men as they booked another hurling final spot.

9 Niall O’Donnell – Ballinderry
Scored two goals for the Shamrocks against Steelstown as he continued his path back from injury.

10 Theresa Mellon – Antrim
Won Antrim’s early penalty, scored points and was involved but it wasn’t enough as Louth edged them out.

11 Sorcha Gormley – Tyrone
Another starring performance from the Tyrone starlet who helped them to All-Ireland glory.

12 Padraig O’Keefe – Maghery
O’Keefe hit 2-2 as they won a vital game with Pearse Óg to stay in Division 1B.

13 Colm McNally- Teemore
McNally was on the ball with 3-4 but it wasn’t enough to beat Irvinestown.

14 Lee Brennan – Trillick
The skipper continues to lead by his actions and he central to victory over Carrickmore.

15 Sean Óg McAleer – Gortin
Held his nerve to kick a last-minute equaliser against Loughmacrory
