THERE was a full weekend of action across the football and hurling leagues.
Here is our team of the week.
1 GAVIN MULREANY Donegal
Nervy start but really took command after that. Two two-pointers and two smart saves.
2 FINNBARR ROARTY Donegal
First start of the year and his line-breaks got his team up the pitch constantly as they got the better of Dublin.
3 JAYNE LYONS Tyrone
Excellent as Tyrone hammered Monaghan in their league opener.
4 JOEY CLARKE Tyrone
The Red Hands were disappointed with a draw but the youngster showed up very well.
5 DIARMAID O’ROURKE Abbey CBS
Wore six, but was operating around the middle in a masterful display.
6 GERARD GILMORE Donegal
Another player named in the half-back line but playing further forward, he punished Tyrone at will.
7 JAMES MULGREW St Patrick’s, Dungannon
Simply superb as the Tyrone side found that bit extra to fend off Abbey VS.
8 ANDREW MURNIN Armagh
Player of the match by a country mile. Blocks, fetches and 1-3 from play.
9 ODHRÁN MURDOCK Down
The difference maker in the hard-fought win over Clare.
10 SUSANNE WHITE Donegal
Physicality was evident as Donegal got the better of Westmeath.
11 DARA MCVEETY Cavan
Pulled the strings against Cork and was unlucky to be on the losing side.
12 CONOR TURBITT Armagh
Tagged on scores at ease as Armagh blew Monaghan away.
13 CIARA BROWN Antrim
Scored 1-3 as the Saffrons produced a big second half against Clare.
14 OISIN MCCALLIN Antrim
A pain in the side of Down in their Ulster U-20 Hurling Championship opener.
15 ETHAN JORDAN Tyrone
Announced his arrival with 1-9 as Kildare struggled to shut him down. A well-deserved player of the match award.
