THERE was another big weekend of action across the leagues with school and college competitions heating up.
Here are the star players.
1 Evelyn Baugh – Cavan
A fine performance as Cavan maintained their unbeaten start against Wexford
2 Hanna Donaghy – Antrim
The Saffrons played out a draw in Roscommon and Donaghy was excellent.
3 Matthew Daly – St Patrick’s Dungannon
His key block late on summed up a fine performance.
4 Oscar O’Connor – Aquinas
Landed a point and was part of the Aquinas defence who closed out St Eunan’s.
5 Meabh Corrigan – Tyrone
Tyrone lost out to Donegal but Corrigan was their key performer on the day.
6 Diarmaid O’Rourke – Abbey
An influential display. Involved in everything Abbey pulled together.
7 Rosemary Courtney – Monaghan
Monaghan picked up a welcome victory and Courtney shone.
8 Conall Higgins – Queen’s
Immense for Queen’s against UCC. Landed 0-4 and was everywhere.
9 Keelan McEntee – Abbey
The reason Abbey pulled themselves back. Won ball, kicked passes and landed scores.
10 Eimear Fitzpatrick – Down
Another eye-catching scoreline and the fantastic Fitzpatrick hit 2-8.
11 JJ Higgins – Aquinas
Player of the game and bagged 1-3 as Aquinas won a first MacLarnon Cup title.
12 Darragh McGilligan – Derry
Hit 0-5 as Derry picked up a vital win. His scores were top drawer but his performance was about much more.
13 Katie Dowds – Donegal
One of the results of the weekend was Donegal’s win over Tyrone and Katie hit a valuable 2-1 to help the cause.
14 Sean Corrigan – Fermanagh
Fermanagh were pipped at home to Louth but Corrigan finished with 1-6. Some of his scores were breathtaking.
15 Liam McGeary – St Patrick’s Dungannon
Player of the MacRory Cup final. His kicking off both feet built a lead Dungannon needed in a belter of a game.
