Gaelic Life Team of the week

THERE was another big weekend of action across the leagues.

Here are the star players.

1 JAMES MCBENNETT Abbey CBS
Three big saves and brilliant kick-outs on a famous day for the Newry school.

2 FINNBARR ROARTY Donegal
Shut down the threat of Ryan O’Donoghue and was a threat at the other end too.

3 BRENDAN MCCOLE Donegal
One of the best man-markers in the game, and showed that again against Mayo.

4 MICHAEL RAFFERTY Tyrone
A late addition to the starting line-up and made the most of his opportunity.

5 CONOR DOHERTY Derry
Stood out on a truly difficult, but ultimately very rewarding, night for the Oakleaf County.

6 DIARMAID O’ROURKE Abbey CBS
A regular in TOTW in recent times. Ran the MacRory Cup final replay.

7 DANIEL GUINNESS Down
Continues to show why he is one of the team’s top players.

8 KEELAN MCENTEE Abbey CBS
A series of big fetches in midfield set the tone in the MacRory final replay.

9 ODHRÁN MURDOCK Down
A much quieter second half, but first 35 against Westmeath can’t be ignored.

10 OISIN BYRNE Abbey CBS
Didn’t put a foot wrong in a brilliant display as Abbey got the better of Dungannon.

11 DARRAGH CANAVAN Tyrone
Just pure magic. Cavan couldn’t live with him.

12 CARLA COLLINS Derry
Final-quarter free-taking crucial in the comeback win over Carlow.

13 SHANE MCGUIGAN Derry
Neat finish for his goal and proved a thorn in Kildare’s side in a real battle between the Division Two sides.

14 AINE CUNNINGHAM Tyrone
Started the league with 2-4 to her name as Tyrone camogs got the better of Wicklow.

15 CONOR O’DONNELL Donegal
Has had to fight for his place over the years, but can’t do much more.
