Gaelic Life team of the week

AFTER another weekend of action, here is our latest Gaelic Life Team of the Week.

The inter-county season is veering into the championship phase while club teams are making the first steps in a season they hope will take them all the way to silverware.

1  RORY BEGGAN Monaghan

A tough ending but had a big game until that point with a score from play and a super low save in the first half.

2 GRACE FERGUSON Armagh

It was tiring just watching her as Armagh made history at Croke Park.

3 MEABH CORRIGAN Tyrone

Made some great interceptions and defended stoutly in the Croke Park loss.

4 NIALL CAROLAN Cavan

Cavan had some top performers against Monaghan and Carolan was one of them.

5 LAUREN MCCONVILLE Armagh

Player of the Match, easily, after a stunning showing in Division One final.

6 PADRAIG FAULKNER  Cavan

Took the fight to Monaghan and scored a cracking goal.

7 DAVIN MCKEOWN  Tyrone

Good man-marking job on Barra McEvoy as Tyrone saw off Down in the Ulster MFC.

8 JAMES SARGENT  Derry

Amongst the scorers as Derry just saw off Cavan in brutal conditions.

9 JACK LOUGHRAN Armagh

Ruled the roost as Armagh’s minors eased past Antrim in their opener.

10 EVA GALLAGHER   Donegal

Notched seven points in a high-scoring Ulster ladies minor win over Armagh.

11 JOE TUNNEY Carryduff

Creator in chief as Carryduff hammered rivals Bredagh in the league.

12 CONOR MCCAHILL Donegal

Star of the show as the Donegal minors started strongly against Fermanagh.

13 AIMEE MACKIN Armagh

First half didn’t go her way but she came to life after the break in stunning fashion – including a brilliant goal.

14 PADDY LYNCH Cavan

Sealed a famous day for Cavan with a fine late finish into an empty net, and that strike capped off a brilliant attacking display.

15 DOMINIC MCATEER Creggan

Kicked some fine scores as Creggan used the second-half win to race away from St Enda’s.
