THERE was a start to the Ulster Championship weekend with plenty of action in the club scene across Ulster.
Here is our selection from games involving Ulster teams.
1 SHAUN PATTON Donegal
Penalty save and got up quickly for the rebound. Kick-outs mostly excellent.
2 PEADAR MOGAN Donegal
Usual all-action display from the St Naul’s man. Ran all day.
3 CHRISTOPHER O’DONNELL Donegal
Really good showing in the Ulster Minor League final, but Tyrone pipped them.
4 AODHAN QUINN Tyrone
Has started the season so well and was brilliant in the Ulster Minor League final win over Donegal.
5 RYAN MCHUGH Donegal
Scored, linked play and won kick-outs on a fine showing against Derry.
6 BRENDAN ROGERS Derry
Ill-discipline hurt Derry twice, but far and away their best player despite not being 100 per cent fit.
7 BRANDON BOYLAN Crosserlough
Scores and assists in an energetic showing against Ballinagh.
8 MICHAEL BERNARD MCLAUGHLIN Buncrana
Dominated around the middle as Buncrana won well in Gaoth Dobhair.
9 RYAN TREANOR Burren
Good early season form continued as Burren eased to the points in Mayobridge.
10 DÁIRE Ó BAOILL Donegal
Player of the Match as Donegal eventually swatted Derry aside.
11 PETER COLTON Tyrone
Led the attack brilliantly as the Red Hands won the Ulster Minor League.
12 PADDY MCALEER All Saint’s
Best player on the park as Liam Bradley’s side took care of Portglenone.
13 MAEVE BRADY Donegal
Grabbed a couple of goals in the Ulster Minor Championship win over Tyrone.
14 JUSTIN KIERAN An Por Mór
Five – yes, five – goals in the comfortable Armagh League win over St Peter’s second string.
15 PATRICK MCBREARTY Donegal
Hit a hot streak against Derry and they couldn’t cope. A good sign for the Tir Chonaill faithful.
