Gaelic Life Team of the Week

THE championship action was in full flow last weekend.

Here is our selection of the star players from games involving Ulster teams.

1 NIALL KANE Kilcoo

The Magpies were winners over Loughinisland and Kane’s freetaking was the game’s talking point.

2 FINNBARR ROARTY Donegal

Bags of energy in defence and raced forward to finish a goal at the end of a piercing run.

3 JOEY CLARKE Tyrone

Took a vital Louth goal chance off the line at an important point and was on the scoresheet too.

4 CILLIAN SHEANON Cavan

The Breffni blues came up short but Sheanon got forward to add two points in an excellent performance.

5 DANNY MAGILL Down

Magill again was kicking scores in a game Down edged by a point. One of their key men.

6 BRENDAN ROGERS Derry

Kicked a two pointer to set the tone in Derry’s fine showing. Got up and down the pitch all day.

7 RUAIRÍ Ó MIANÁIN Derry

Played passes, caught balls in defence and scored a monster score but it wasn’t enough for Derry.

8 CONOR GLASS Derry

Immense. Scored 1-3 including one off his left. He was everywhere Derry needed him to be.

9 RIAN O’NEILL Armagh

He has only back in the door five minutes but his mammoth kicking is proving a vital addition.

10 THERESA MELLON Antrim

Continued her fine form with four points in another exciting Antrim showing.

11 RORY GRUGAN Armagh

Had a couple of quiet games by his high standards but he was awesome against the Dubs. Star man.

12 NOAH GRIMES Tyrone

Any day you score 2-6 in an All-Ireland final is an amazing day. Shot Tyrone into the driving seat.

13 CONOR O’DONNELL Donegal

Has been in and out of the team but his 1-4 tally will make him hard to drop for the Mayo game.

14 CONOR LOVE Fermanagh

The Enniskillen man has been having an excellent championship and this was another exciting display.

15 HOLLY MCQUAID Monaghan

Monaghan edged out a fancied Cavan side and McQuaide knew where the posts were.
