Glenelly presents “Boxing By The River 2” Fundraiser

SPARKS will be flying at the Mellon Country Hotel on Saturday 2 March when Gleann Eallaigh Naomh Seosamh CLG will host its “Boxing By The River 2” Event.

Eleven years on from the club’s first “Boxing by the River” Fundraiser, competitors will return to the ring for this much anticipated Fight Night, with eight weeks of intensive training already complete under the expert instruction of Mourne Golden Gloves in Strabane.

Club Treasurer Garry McGlinchey is part of the organising team, and is also taking part: “Every one in Glenelly is really looking forward to the event. We’ve got a great spread of evenly matched bouts planned. We hope to see you all on 2 March for what promises to be an unforgettable night of entertainment. Doors open at 7pm with first fight at 8pm. The action in the ring will be followed by a disco and we will also have some fantastic special guests in attendance on the night.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £25 each and will be widely available from any of the fighters, committee members, Senior Players, and local shops and pubs from 1 February. Stay tuned to the Club social media channels for more information on our fighters, bouts and weigh-in night.

Glenelly are extremely grateful to the Main Event Sponsor Ballinascreen Credit Union Limited who have been unwavering in their support of our club down through the years. Each fighter will have their own individual sponsor and each fight is also being sponsored by businesses and individuals near and far. There will be a total of 12 bouts on the night.

There is still time to get involved in sponsorship of the event. If you would like to sponsor, please contact: Garry McGlinchey- 07783771108 or Kevin McConnell- 07786765604.
