Ballinderry (Derry) – 2025
THE Shamrocks just came up short last season against Crossmolina, with a late Conor Loftus goal the difference between the sides in the end. Ballinderry had won the Senior All-Ireland title back in 2002 but weren’t able to add another piece of national silverware to their trophy cabinet.
Cullyhanna (Armagh) – 2024
CULLYHANNA became the first team from the Orchard County to win an All-Ireland title at intermediate level. They had to come from behind to beat Ballyhaise in the Ulster decider and weren’t at their best against Cill na Martra in the All-Ireland final, but Aidan Nugent’s goal helped them claim the crown.
Galbally (Tyrone) – 2023
TYRONE have a better record than any Ulster county in the Intermediate All-Ireland series, but Galbally just came up short in 2023. A goal from Rathmore full-forward, and Kerry goalkeeper, Shane Ryan split the sides when the referee called for the ball and the Kingdom representatives won by three.
Steelstown (Derry) – 2022
STEELSTOWN are currently the only team from the Oakleaf County to have tasted All-Ireland success at this level and that was when they proved too strong for Trim of Meath in 2022. Ben McCarron, Cahir McMonagle and Emmett Deane all raised green flags for the Derry men at Croke Park.
Magheracloone (Monaghan) – 2020
OF the three Monaghan clubs that have reached the All-Ireland Intermediate finals, Magheracloone are the only team not to have won the title. Oughterard of Galway were ultimately too strong on the day, and they claimed the throne with ten points to spare.
Naomh Éanna (Antrim) – 2019
NAOMH Éanna enjoyed a historic journey in 2019 and remain the only Antrim club to have ever reached an All-Ireland decider at this level. The final was a step too far for the Antrim men however as Kilcummin of Kerry smashed home five goals on their way to claiming the title, winning 5-13 to 2-9.
Moy (Tyrone) – 2018
MOY are the most recent club from the Red Hand County to claim the intermediate throne. Tyrone legend Sean Cavanagh top scored for his side with 0-5 (all frees) while Tom Loughran nailed the all-important three-pointer as they came away with six points to spare against Roscommon’s Michael Glavey’s.
Truagh Gaels (Monaghan) – 2014
TRUGHA proved too strong for Kiltane of Mayo in the 2014 decider, seeing out a 2-21 to 2-13 victory at Croke Park. Daniel McKenna was the main man in the forward line and nailed 1-7 while Mark Counihan also rattled the net, with all four goals in the game coming inside the opening 35 minutes.
Cookstown (Tyrone) – 2013
COOKSTOWN and Ardfert of Kerry are the only two-time winners of the competition and the Fr Rock’s club lifted the trophy for the second time in 2013. They defeated Finuge of Kerry in the showpiece by six, with a second-half major from James McGahan, along with the Kerry men being reduced to 14 men, helping them over the line.
Lisnaskea (Fermanagh) – 2011
THE one and only All-Ireland title that has ever gone to Fermanagh came in 2011 when Lisnaskea climbed the steps of the Hogan Stand. Niall McElroy’s extra-time goal, along with 0-8 from Daniel Kille, were the main moments for the lads from the Erne County.
Cookstown (Tyrone) – 2010
COOKSTOWN’S first of two All-Ireland Intermediate Club titles came in 2010 when they overcame Kerry side Spa by two points, 1-7 to 0-8. A Barry Hughes goal with eight minutes of normal time remaining got the Fr Rock’s club across the line while Owen Mulligan and Conor Mullan shared 0-4 between them.
Coleraine (Derry) – 2007
AFTER claiming the Ulster title, Coleraine made it all the way to Croke Park, but they lost out to Ardfert of Kerry in a low scoring affair. John Egan’s goal after just nine minutes proved absolutely crucial as the Kerry men edged a 1-4 to 0-5 victory.
Inniskeen (Monaghan) – 2006
MONAGHAN men Inniskeen produced a dramatic late comeback to capture the All-Ireland IFC title, the first Ulster club to do so, against Caherlistrane of Galway. Gary Lynch and Niall Lennon were both on target late on as Inniskeen grabbed victory.
Pomeroy (Tyrone) – 2005
A POWERFUL second-half display from Carbery Rangers saw them comfortably defeat Pomeroy in the 2005 decider. With one point the difference at the break, after both sides had hit the net, Carbery hit a flurry of points.
St Michael’s (Donegal) – 2004
ST Michael’s reached the very first All-Ireland Intermediate decider, but it was Ilben Rangers of Cork who went all the way and got their hands on the trophy. Sean Stewart’s goal kept the Donegal men in touch, but they were well beaten in the end.
