Lavey appoint O’Hagan as their joint football manager

By Michael McMullan

LAVEY have appointed Barry O’Hagan as the joint manager of their senior football team.

The 2002 All-Ireland winner will be joint manager with Shay Murrin who was in charge last season.

O’Hagan is the current Armagh u-20 manager, ratified for a fifth year.

He was joint manager of Kilcar with Conor Cunningham when they won the senior league in 2022.

Killybegs man Murrin is currently involved with Donegal u-20s and the South Donegal MacRory Cup team.

Previously, he was part of Naomh Conaill championship winning teams under manager Martin Regan.

Murrin helped steer Faughanvale to the 2015 Ulster Junior final under when Joe Gray was player manager.

Lavey were last winners of the John McLaughlin Cup in 1993 and last in a final in 2018 when they lost to Eoghan Rua.

They lost to Glen (2024) and Sleacht Néill (2025) narrowly at the quarter-final stage in recent seasons.

O’Hagan is a second former Armagh player to be recently appointed in the Oakleaf County after Finnian Moriarty took over from Rory Kavanagh in Glen.
