Maguire appointed as manager of Lavey

By Michael McMullan

LAVEY have appointed Killybegs native Brendan Maguire as their new senior football manager.

Maguire, currently living in Derry, has been involved as both selector and manager with Faughanvale.

He takes over from Gary Cushnahan who stepped away at the end of last season.

Maguire played for and managed Killybegs at all levels. His Lavey management is yet to be finalised.

Lavey were dramatically relegated from the top flight last season following a league play-off with Ballinascreen they lost on penalties.

After pushing All-Ireland finalists Glen for long periods of a group game defeat in the championship, Lavey bowed out at the hands of Newbridge in the quarter-finals.
