National Football and Hurling league fixtures announced

THE  National League fixtures have been released and round one will be a busy weekend for all Ulster teams.

The opening game of the Division One football league, on Saturday 28 January, begins with Vinny Corey’s Monaghan hosting Armagh in Castleblayney.

The following day, Tyrone travel the long track to Roscommon while Donegal welcome All-Ireland champions Kerry to Ballybofey.

Derry begin their promotion charge with a home game against Limerick while in Division Three, Fermanagh host Longford.

Conor Laverty’s Down face a tough task in the opening round of their Division Three campaign, as they travel to Tipperary.

In a repeat of last season’s Tailteann Cup final, Cavan take on Westmeath to kick start their National League campaign while Antrim will have home advantage in their first game as they welcome Offaly to Corrigan Park.

In hurling, 2022 Joe McDonagh Cup winners Antrim take on Kilkenny in the opening round of their Division 1B campaign.

Division 2A kicks off with Down travelling to Carlow while Derry will host Kerry on the opening day.

Tyrone are the new kids on the block in Division 2B and they begin their season with a home game against London while Donegal take on Sligo.

In 3A, Monaghan meet Fermanagh and Armagh travel the short distance to Louth, while Cavan take on neighbours Longford in the first round of the 3B campaign.
