PREVIEWS: Semi-final weekend in Donegal

THERE are four semi-finals in Donegal this weekend and a key relegation battle.

Here are the fixtures.

DONEGAL SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS

St Michael’s v Gaoth Dobhair

Saturday, O’Donnell Park, 5pm

TWO form teams. St Michael’s have picked up momentum since losing to MacCumhaills in the first game. Gaoth Dobhair have been consistently performing. Something has to give.

Verdict: Gaoth Dobhair

Naomh Conaill v Four Masters

Sunday, O’Donnell Park, 4pm

NAOMH Conaill showed all their championship nous to dig out a win over Termon. It will give them a serious injection of confidence. Four Masters finished strong to see off Dungloe. It’s the experienced Glenties men against the newcomers. It might tip the scales.

Verdict: Naomh Conaill

DONEGAL SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP RELEGATION PLAY-OFF

St Naul’s v Aodh Ruadh

Saturday, Tir Conaill Park, 2pm

THE men from Ballyshannon have lost all their games and need a change of fortunes. With three county players, St Naul’s have the tools to dig themselves out of a tight spot.

Verdict: St Naul’s

DONEGAL JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS

Carndonagh v Convoy

Saturday, Beart, 3.30pm

ANY team with Conor O’Donnell on board is going to take serious watching. Carn lost last year’s final and have topped their group but it all thickens up now. Convoy will need Anthony Browne and Corrie-Lee Bogan on form.

Verdict: Carndonagh

Letterkenny Gaels v Naomh Bríd

Saturday, Killygordon, 2.30pm

THE Gaels have picked up some form at the right time and face a Naomh Bríd side who edged the league encounter earlier in the season. That counts for nothing now. A tight one.

Verdict: Letterkenny Gaels
