THE champions have nothing to gain, only a desire to keep on winning. With top spot secured, their selection with their hurling commitments will be interesting. The Con Magees have to win.
Verdict: Dunloy
GROUP 2
St Paul’s v St John’s
Sunday, Lámh Dhearg, 1.30pm
ST Paul’s are out of the championship with the Johnnies safely through to the last eight. Not much to be gained but St John’s may eye top spot as a focus but the dual players’ load will be a factor too.
Verdict: St John’s
Creggan v All Saints
Sunday, Tír na nÓg, 1.30pm
THE weekend’s crunch game. Creggan are league champions but simply have to win. It’s black and white. All Saints have a better score difference. In recent years, Creggan have the upper hand and will be fancied here.
Verdict: Creggan
GROUP 3
Cargin v St Gall’s
Sunday, Glenavy, 4pm
IN a group where three teams could end up level, Cargin need to avoid defeat but still have a better score difference. St Gall’s look to be without Niall Burns. Cargin will be planning without Tomás McCann, but Michael will be available.
Verdict: Cargin
Moneyglass v St Brigid’s
Sunday, Ahoghill, 4pm
IT would take a remarkable sequence of events for Moneyglass to still progress but they need to win and to win by 17 points. For St Brigid’s, they need to win but will have an eye on the margin in the St Gall’s v Cargin game.
Verdict: St Brigid’s
GROUP 4
Sarsfields v Lámh Dhearg
Saturday, Davitt Park, 5.30pm
THE Paddies need to win this one by 31 points to have a chance in case three teams end level. It’s unlikely. You’d have to fancy the men from Hannahstown.
Verdict: Lámh Dhearg
Portglenone v Aghagallon
Saturday, Cargin, 5.30pm
CASEMENTS need a draw to wipe away any doubt. Aghagallon were pipped by Lámh Dhearg after hammering Sarsfields. Portglenone have been knocking on the door in recent years and it’s hard to see them slipping up here.

Verdict: Ahoghill
Glenavy v Naomh Éanna
Sunday, Glenavy, 1pm
NAOMH Éanna came into the championship on the back of their fine league form. Glenavy finished the league in mid-table. It’s hard to look past the Hightown men here.
Verdict: Naomh Éanna

GROUP 1
Pearses v St Malachy’s
Friday, Cliftonville, 6.45pm
PEARSES will be both encouraged by their showing against Rasharkin but will regret not getting at least a draw. St Malachy’s have also lost both games and need a win. A draw isn’t enough to book a quarter-finals spot.
Verdict: Pearses
Rasharkin v Laochra Loch Lao
Sunday, Dreen, 3pm
RASHARKIN are the fancied horse to land the double after winning the league. If they avoid defeat at home this weekend, they’ll nailed a semi-final spot.
Verdict: Rasharkin
GROUP 2
Cloughmills v O’Donnell’s
Saturday, Cloughmills, 5.30pm
CLOUGHMILLS have struggled all season and need a win here to give them a slender chance of making a quarter-final. Its hard to see anything other than an O’D’s win on the road.
Verdict: O’Donnell’s
Ardoyne v Éire Óg
Saturday, Ardoyne, 5.30pm
ÉIRE Óg and Ardoyne have had similar season. An Ardoyne victory would see them top the group, taking them straight to the semi-finals.
