Two Ulster teams remain in the race for the Tailteann Cup

By Michael McMullan

WITH Fermanagh safely through to the last eight of the Tailteann Cup as group leaders, Antrim will lock horns with Wexford this weekend in a bid to join them.

Conor Love was in hot form for the Erne County at Croke Park against Wexford on Sunday while Antrim’s win over London kept them in the hunt.

After a creditable performance against Armagh in the Ulster championship, the Saffrons lost both their group games and it was a must win last weekend.

With New York entering after the group stages, only three of the third placed teams would make it through.

A combined 1-13 from Patrick McBride, Ryan McQuillan and Dominic McEnhill ensured Antrim’s 1-22 to 1-14 scoreline squeezed out Leitrim.

Saturday
Offaly v New York – 2pm Tullamore – GAA+
Westmeath v Laois – 5pm Mullingar – GAA+
Sunday
Wexford v Antrim – 1pm Wexford
Sligo v Carlow – 2pm Tubbercurry
