Tyrone take on Down in 2023 u-20 Ulster opener

THE draw for the 2023 u-20 Ulster championship has been made and All-Ireland champions Tyrone open their account against 2021 Ulster winners Down.

It’s a repeat of last season’s quarter final clash, which Tyrone won by five before going all the way to beat Kildare in the All-Ireland final.

The Red Hand County saw off Cavan in last year’s Ulster final and the Breffni men have been drawn against the winners of Monaghan and Armagh, who meet in the preliminary round.

Those five teams are all on one side of the draw while on the other side, Fermanagh and Derry will battle it out for a spot in the last four.

The winner of that tie will take on either Donegal or Antrim in the Ulster semi-final. The championship will once again take the form of a knockout structure.

Preliminary Round
Monaghan v Armagh

Quarter-finals
1 Fermanagh v Derry
2 Donegal v Antrim
3 Tyrone v Down
4 Cavan v Prelim winner

Semi-finals
1 v 2
3 v 4
